It's Okay to Be Right Where You Are

Somebody needs to hear this today, because I needed to hear it today: it is okay to be right where you are.

Not where you thought you'd be by now. Not where the highlight reels say you should be. Not healed, not thriving, not glowing — just here. In the middle of the mess. In the apartment with the laundry mountain. In the season where you're doing your best and your best looks like survival with snacks.

Here's the thing nobody puts on a mug: where you are is not where you're staying. But you cannot skip the middle. Healing doesn't do express shipping. You don't get to teleport from "everything fell apart" to "and then she rose." There's a whole long, ugly, boring, painful middle, and you're allowed to just... be in it. Without apologizing for the pace.

Being okay with where you are is not giving up. Read that again. Acceptance is not surrender — it's ground. You can't build anything standing on shame. The moms who make it out of the hard seasons aren't the ones who performed recovery the fastest. They're the ones who stopped treating their current location like a verdict.

So if today all you did was keep everyone alive and keep yourself breathing, that counts. If you're in a place you wouldn't wish on anybody, it still doesn't get to define what you're worth while you're in it.

You're not behind. You're in process. And process is allowed to look like this.

Where are you right now — honestly? No fixing, no performing. Just name it. I'll go first: I'm in the middle. And I'm staying soft in it.
