A boy. It's a boy!

Who knew? Well, apparently, a lot of people did—but I didn’t. I had no idea that finding out I was pregnant just two weeks after my 40th birthday (technically four weeks pregnant) would suddenly categorize my pregnancy as "geriatric." Somehow, those two extra weeks magically aged me in the medical world. What I also didn’t know was that with a geriatric pregnancy, it’s routine to have a blood test done at just 9 weeks. This test not only screens for genetic conditions like Down syndrome and other potential challenges, but it also reveals the gender of your baby—weeks before an ultrasound could. Honestly, while all those medical insights are important, I was most excited about finding out the gender. The idea of knowing, with certainty, whether I was having a boy or a girl at just 9 weeks was incredible. And today, we celebrate—because it’s a boy!
