I took this on Saturday night at Blue Mountain. The sky just... did that. Pink, orange, the whole dramatic production. No permission, no warning, no committee meeting. Just showed up and showed off.
Meanwhile today — Monday, real life, no filter — the buses were cancelled, my ID vanished into the void, the courthouse printer had a stroke, and somebody accused me of neglect for leaving my kids at a SUPERVISED PROGRAM. The sky today? Couldn't tell you. I was too busy having back-to-back mental breakdowns to look up.
That's the thing, though. The sky doesn't wait for you to be in a good mood. It doesn't check your calendar or ask if the day deserves it. It just performs. Saturday it performed for the tired, muddy, medal-hanging mom. Today it performed for nobody in particular, and I missed the whole show.
So tonight I'm posting Saturday's sky on top of Monday's mess of a day. Because the world doesn't pause for your pivot count — and apparently neither does a good sunset.
It's Ember's birthday. Six. And somewhere between the breakdowns, I remembered: that's the whole job. Keep looking up, even on the days you forget to.
