Just nine days into the year, and here we are starting another chapter in the chaos of our not-so-helpful emergency department.
It shouldn’t matter that I came in at an inconvenient time or that a snowstorm hit an hour later, turning this place into pure chaos.
What should matter is that I’m not okay, even though the doctors can’t figure out why.
Being told I have swollen lymph nodes across one entire side of my body, that I can't eat or drink without it all coming back up, and that I’m struggling to breathe—that should matter.
Just because my blood work shows nothing out of the ordinary doesn’t mean there’s no issue.
To be sent home with no answers, no solutions, and no next steps is beyond frustrating—it’s unacceptable.
